Kinetic Luna set for electric comeback as e-Luna: Bookings open, just at Rs 500!
As the electric two-wheeler market gains momentum in India, the iconic Kinetic Luna is making a grand return, this time in the form of an electric avatar. Kinetic Green, an electric vehicle manufacturer, is gearing up to launch the e-Luna, an electric moped, in February 2024.
Bookings for the much anticipated e-Luna kicked off on Republic Day, January 26, 2024, with an initial token amount of Rs 500. Interested customers can secure their e-Luna by visiting the company’s official website.
The original Kinetic Luna, a beloved two-wheeler in India from the 1970s to the early 2000s, was renowned for its simplistic design, fuel efficiency, and affordability. While specific details about the e-Luna’s specifications are yet to be disclosed, it is expected to offer a range of approximately 70-75 km on a single charge.
Although details remain speculative until the official launch, industry insiders suggest that the e-Luna might feature a 2kWh battery pack and have a top speed regulated at around 60 kmph.
Sulajja Firodia Motwani, Founder and CEO of Kinetic Green, emphasized that the upcoming electric vehicle is designed to meet the diverse needs of consumers across metro areas, Tier 1, Tier 2, Tier 3 cities, and rural markets.
Given its historical popularity and brand recognition, the competitively priced e-Luna has the potential to be a game-changer in the last-mile mobility sector in India. Enthusiasts can anticipate design cues borrowed from its Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) counterpart, coupled with various feature upgrades for a modern touch.
