The Industrial estate has more than 100 industries and needs immediate attention.

The Kondhwa Budrak industrial estate were brought into the Pune Municipal Corporation limits in early 2000 but still needs ample facilities from the civic body to function properly.

Iqbal Memon, president, Kondhwa Budruk Industrial Estate informed that there are about 150 industries in the area including automobile, furniture, packaging, food processing, among others. “Even then we lack basic amenities like proper access road with streetlights. We are dependent on tanker water mostly and there is no system for garbage pick up. The drainage water flows on the main road. It is difficult to drive in monsoon as the roads are kutchha here. The muddy roads make it difficult for the workers to visit the industries and are at risk often.”

Dr Preeti Victor, secretary, Kondhwa Budruk Industrial Estate said, “The industries here have established since early 1990s. We dont have proper roads, drinking water facility, sewage system, garbage disposal system. We have to be self dependent on everything despite paying taxes. We have been in PMC for over two decades now but still no basic needs are fulfilled.”

The industry owners here want PMC to pay attention and provide them with basic amenities and support the industries to flourish better.
