The pathetic condition of the Katraj-Kondhwa road after the heavy rains and the traffic jam have prompted the police to fill the potholes on their own.

This comes after the appeal of the traffic police and the residents to set right the road from Katraj to Kondhwa, especially the stretch from the Kadimachine chowk to Shri Satrunjan Jain temple, to Pune Municipal Corporation and the Public Works Department, bore no fruit.

The traffic division of the Pune city police took the action after the traffic on the said road became chaotic. The fact that residents joined hands with the police needs special mention.

Speaking to Pune Pulse, PI Rajendra Shelke of Kondhwa Traffic branch said, ” We are fed up with the traffic jam caused by the potholes. We have filled the potholes ourselves, for a second time. We sought help from a few residents for the purpose. Traffic congestion creates a lot of stress on the traffic police and also causes hardships for the commuters. A smooth road makes things easier for both of us.”
