Kunal Icon society bags first prize in terrace garden competition

The competition was recently held by Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation.

The competition was categorized into various departments that focused on the sowing and growing of Flowers, fruits, vegetables and garden. 

On speaking with the chairman of society Vinod Surve, he said, “Our priority is to maintain the garden in our society. However, we only wanted the visitors in our society to carry a positive impression while viewing the garden and other areas of the society.”On being asked about the impact of such competition being held by the civic body, he said, “It can be easily understood that such competitions can give surely give a boost to the strides towards a healthy environment that can be seen suffering an impact due to the pollution.” On speaking with Kanchan Joshi, who is responsible for maintaining the gardens in the society along with Shilpa Pisal, said, “We received the award for utilizing the space with proper planning.

Every decision regarding the maintenance follows a professional approach. Before taking any decision, the committee of the society views the plan through a presentation given by the society members. We have planted indigenous trees.” On speaking with the Garden Superintendent of PCMC, Suresh Salunke, he said, “As compared to last year, we have received a good response to the competition from the societies in and across PCMC. Kunal Icon society from Pimple Saudagar, which has bagged first prize in the garden category award, has basically been nominated due to their proper plans and efficient management.
