Kunal Kumar visits BRTS routes in Pimple Saudagar

Kunal Kumar, Joint Secretary & Mission Director, Smart Cities Mission, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India recently inspected the various development work being carried out under Smart City Mission in Pimple Gurav and Pimple Saudagar.

“It is expected that Pune, Pimpri Chinchwad and Solapur cities will complete the entire project by July 2023. In view of the pace of development work, it is necessary to create awareness among the citizens about how the projects of Smart City will be useful for the citizens,” expressed Kunal Kumar, Smart City Mission Director and Joint Secretary, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs“Raise awareness of smart city projects through WhatsApp, Facebook as well as print media,” he suggested.

On 7 February, Inspection of ABD and PAN City projects under Pimpri Chinchwad Smart City performed by Kunal Kumar. After that a review meeting was held at Auto Cluster, Chinchwad where he guided the officers on the work of Pimpri Chinchwad and Pune Smart City.  At the time Municipal Commissioner and Chief Executive Officer Rajesh Patil, City Engineer and Joint Chief Executive Officer Rajan Patil, Chief Information Technology Officer Nilkanth Poman, General Manager Ashok Bhalkar, Chief Financial Officer Sunil Bhosale, Executive Engineer Manoj Sethia, Assistant Chief Executive Officer Laxmikant Kolhe, City officials and advisory representatives were presentAt this time, Kunal Kumar acknowledged the various work like Solar Power Project, Smart Kiosk, Skill Development Center, Start Up Incubation Center, Municipal E-Class Room, School Health Monitoring, Public E-Toilet, City Mobile App & Social Media, E-Class Room, Environmental Sensor, Smart Traffic, City Surveillance, Smart Parking Including Multilevel Car Park, Integrated Command Control Center, Optical Fiber Cable, Smart Water Supply, Public WiFi Hotspot, Smart Sewerage, ICT Enabled SWM, Streetscape Including underground utility, TU park and smart toilet in ABD. GIS enable ERP included projects on Municipal Service Level Bench Making, Unique Smart Addressing and Online Establishment Licensing through Projector . 

Also, the discussion on funds for this work was done. Earlier, he visited to Pimple Gurav and Pimple Saudagar at Rajmata Jijau park and parking system, roads, sidewalks, open gym for senior citizens, seating arrangements at various places, which was developed on the occasion of Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav, 8 to 8o park which was designed in 75 hours at Sudarshan Chowk. He also inspected the roads and bicycle tracks constructed under Urban Street in the city. He also interacted with the citizens regarding the development work and appreciated their feedback on the projects.

“He is the mission director of Smart city mission government of India. He did an appraisal of the work happening on ground. He visited 5-6 locations where smart city works are being held. He interacted with officers of Pune and PCMC. He expressed satisfaction over the progress of the projects, ” said Rajesh Patil, PCMC Commissioner.
