Accused Imran Shaikh alias Atiq Amir Khan from Kurla and accused Harishchandra Pant from Bhoisar have been arrested by Pune Police on Wednesday (15th November) in this crime. When all these accused were produced in the MCOCA court on Wednesday, the police gave this information to the court. The accused have been sent to police custody till November 20.

Preliminary investigation has revealed that Pant was actively involved in training, manufacturing and sales in the Mephedrone manufacturing plant running at MIDC, Nashik. He was doing this work at the behest of Lalit Patil and gang leader Arvind Lohare. It has been found that Imran Shaikh alias Atiq Ameer Khan was sold by the accused in Mumbai. Therefore, the police have arrested both of them.

Lohare holds a master’s degree in chemistry. He has given the formula and training to other members of the gang to make the petrol narcotic. The extent of this crime seems to have spread across the districts of Nashik Nagar, Mumbai and Pune. Apart from this, the gang has sold drugs outside the state.
