Pune: BJP MLA Mahesh Landge has proposed to utilize the cow barren land (non agricultural) at Moshi for the purpose of constructing Pimpri Chinchwad Police Commissionerate, Headquarters and police parade ground.

Landge is pursuing the issue with the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation ( PCMC) , Collector’s Office and the State Government.

Mahesh Landge, BJP MLA, Bhosari Constituency said, “The population of Pimpri-Chinchwad city is around 30 lakhs. Some police stations in the city will also be divided. If the police parade ground and other functions are at one and central place, the administrative work of the Police Commissionerate will be streamlined. We insist that a grand building of the Police Commissionerate be constructed on the cow grazing land (non agricultural) in Moshi as a central location. The Commissioner of Police inspected the place on Saturday. For this, we will now follow up with the Municipal Corporation, Collector’s Office and the State Government.”

As per further information, Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Commissioner Vinay Kumar Chaubey inspected the proposed site on Saturday. Additional Commissioner of Police Vasant Pardeshi, Joint Commissioner of Police Sanjay Shinde, Deputy Commissioner of Police Sandeep Doifode, Deputy Director of Town Planning Department Prasad Gaikwad, Tehsildar Archana Nikam, Deputy Commissioner of Police Shivaji Pawar and other officers were present on this occasion.

Separate Police Commissionerate for Pimpri-Chinchwad city was created in 2018. The then Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis took a positive stand for this. Also, since 2014, MLA Mahesh Landge has pursued the government for the commissionerate and succeeded. The work of Commissionerate started in 2018. However, for the last five years, the rightful place for the Commissionerate has not yet been obtained.

Meanwhile, the state government has approved the provision of 65 acres of land at Dehu Gaon Cow grazing land for the Pimpri-Chinchwad Commissionerate. However, this site is opposed by local citizens and farmers. For this, the villagers have protested. Due to this, there will be delay and difficulties in making the said place available. Therefore, MLA Landge has demanded that a Police Commissionerate should be set up in the cow land area of Moshi.
