Landslide Incident : Vehicular Traffic On Two Lane Resumes on Pune Mumbai Expressway near Kamshet Tunnel

The vehicular traffic saw restricted movement last night as a landslide was reported at Kamshet Tunnel on Pune Mumbai Expressway. 

The Highway State Police, Maharashtra, IRB officials were pressed into service to remove the debris and manage the vehicular traffic. The work continued till today morning and Police have opened two lanes for vehicular traffic, as even now, some incidents are being reported. 

The police stated, “The debris has been completely cleared by 2 am but as some soil is falling at the spot, the IRB team has been called to inspect it. Therefore, one lane has been closed and the remaining two lanes have been opened for traffic.”  

The incident occurred between 8 PM and 9.30 PM last night. This was the third incident in the last few days in which cases of landslides were reported from Pune Mumbai Expressway. 

Earlier, this week a two hour block was held to clear the remaining debris and piled up stones at the Adoshi tunnel and Khandala when a landslide occurred.Â
