Leakage at Pune Metro’s Civil Court Interchange Station Irks Commuters
PUNE: After a light rain on Tuesday, leaks appeared on the roof of Maha Metro’s Civil Court interchange station, leaving citizens uncertain about the condition during a heavy downpour. As per the information added, as a precautionary measure, Pune Metro installed barricades at the affected spots and near the escalators where water had begun to accumulate.
The Civil Court interchange station is the sole station where two metro lines intersect, and it has recorded the highest footfall since its opening on August 1. The roof of the underground station, designed by Maha Metro, allows sunlight to filter in, and it is precisely at these points where the leakages have formed.
Hemant Sonawane, the Pune Metro PRO, added, “Repair work has been done. An inspection has been carried out and necessary actions has been taken. We receive complaints from commuters and try to solve them immediately.”
Commuter Sanyukta Wankhede added, ”Authorities should carry out a thorough inspection of all the stations as a few spells of rain have deteriorated the condition of the stations.”
Jui Gore, another commuter, added that ” Such leakages can cause huge inconvenience to all commuters travelling. Authorities should take care that such leakages don’t happen again.”
Hrishikesh Joshi, another commuter, added that ”Maha Metro should conduct frequent checks. Such incidents should not be taking place so early.”
