Pune, November 24, 2025: A joint inspection was carried out this morning in the Pune Airport area following recent reports of a leopard sighting.

The field visit included Assistant Conservator of Forests Pune, Mangesh Tate; Indian Air Force Wing Commander Y. S. Singh; Range Forest Officer Suresh Varak; Round Officers Sheetal Khendke and Pramod Raskar; and representatives from the ResQ Foundation, Kiran Rahalkar and Ninad.

The team examined the K4 location, where the leopard had been sighted earlier. Three camera traps have been deployed at the site, but no fresh movement has been recorded since the leopard was last seen on the morning of November 19.

Officials also conducted a detailed inspection of the tunnels in the area. The Indian Air Force has completely sealed these tunnels to rule out the possibility of the leopard taking shelter inside.

However, authorities believe the animal may still be hiding in the surrounding vegetation.

It has been decided that if the leopard is spotted again — either visually or through camera trap footage — the next course of action will include placing a trap cage and deploying appropriate measures to ensure its safe capture.
