Dogs do speak but only to those who know how to listen. Also a dog trainer’s life isn’t a cake walk. It takes a lot of patience, hard work, determination and passion to handle fur babies.

Training a dog for a life is not a quick fix, explains Bharat Punjabi, who has been a dog trainer for the last eight years. He has been conducting several sessions for pet lovers and pets training them on how to handle dogs. He says, “I am certified trainer training dogs as a profession which consists of home obedience, dog shows training, K9 training, helping the fur babies and the parents to understand and respect each other.”

He has been conducting training sessions in and around Wanowrie, where pet parents from the surrounding areas as well as from Koregaon Park, Mohamadwadi, Kalyani Nagar are also participating which is absolutely free of cost. I am happy I am able to spread happiness among pet parents, Bharat adds.

Sakshi Arora, a pet lover who owns a Golden retriver says, “When I got a pet in my house, I really had no idea on how to handle him and how to understand his needs and requirements. I was introduced to Bharat by a friend. I explained to him my problem and he had bang on solutions to it. Now, my pet is seven months old and I have seen a drastic change in his behaviour. He has become more disciplined, understands commands and behaves very friendly and lovingly to people and pets around him. I had a burden on my head if my decision to bring a pet was right once, but I am more than happy now. I feel a trainer not only trains a dog but it trains the pet owners on how to handle certain situations.”

Kaveeta Pol, another pet owner from Koregaon Park shares, “I have a labrador in my house. Earlier he used to get very hyper but I have seen him becoming friendly with other pets and also with humans. I have rescued many puppies before but he is the naughtiest among all. I feel dog training is needed right from the initial days. So that they understand the commands, their daily routine is set. It is a daunting task to train a pet but once you know the trick, you will enjoy and love being in the company of pets.”
