This evening, a sudden storm accompanied by heavy rain caused significant disruption for citizens in Pune. The severe weather led to the collapse of a large hoarding near the Pune-Solapur highway. The incident occurred around 4 PM at Gulmohar Lawns near the Kavdipat Toll Plaza in the Loni Kalbhor area. Two individuals were injured, and a horse was also hurt in the incident.

Following the recent hoarding collapse in Mumbai, there has been a state-wide outcry over the safety and regulation of hoardings. The issue of unauthorized hoardings has come to the forefront once again. Despite repeated warnings, it appears that the administration has not taken adequate measures to address the problem. The latest incident underscores the urgency of this issue.

In this particular accident, Bharat Sable (57) from Yerwada, Pune, and Akshay Korvi (27) from Pune were injured. According to reports, a band from Pune was performing at an event at Gulmohar Lawns, which is adjacent to the Solapur highway. While the band was playing, a horse was tied nearby under a tree.

At approximately 4:15 PM, the weather took a dramatic turn with strong winds and heavy rain. The powerful winds caused a dangerously constructed large hoarding to collapse. Bharat Sable and Akshay Korvi were trapped under the fallen hoarding. Promptly, nearby citizens rescued them and rushed them to the hospital for treatment. The horse also sustained injuries in the incident.

This event has once again highlighted the critical need for stringent enforcement of hoarding regulations to prevent such hazardous occurrences in the future.
