Pune: Pune Traffic Police organized Lok Adalat at Traffic Police Headquarters in Yerawada, Pune on December 9 (Saturday). A meeting was held with KP Nandedkar, District Judge 1 of Pune and in-charge Chief District Judge, Pune and Sonal Patil, Secretary, Pune District Legal Services Authority, Shivaji Nagar, Pune in this regard on November 21 at the office of the District Legal Services Authority, Pune.

As per the discussion held in the meeting, an information helpdesk will be started for the public at the Traffic Branch Office, Bungalow No. 6, neighbouring Yerwada Post Office, Pune for concessions on the traffic fines from November 22.

The traffic department had summoned a large number of people from Pune (urban), Pune (rural), Pimpri Chinchwad and highway areas on December 12 for the Lok Adalat. District Legal Services Authority, Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad, Pune Rural and the administration have taken special care so that citizens who have been summoned do not face any inconvenience in the Lok Adalat.

The planning has been done so that the cases of the Lok Adalat are disposed off collectively in the shortest possible time so that the time of the citizens is not wasted.

For the sake of public interest and to dispose of pending cases, the issuance of pending traffic violations on citizens’ vehicles will be exempted after compromise. The drivers/owners whose vehicles have pending cases regarding violation of traffic rules, if they come to Deputy Commissioner of Police Traffic Branch Office, Yerawada, Pune from 22/11/2023 between 11.00 am to 2.00 pm and 15.00 to 17.00 pm by the disposition of pending cases on their vehicles, fines on the motorists will be reduced. Under the said helpdesk, different tables will be set up for settlement of pending traffic bills in Pune City, Pune Rural and Pimpri Chinchwad.
