Dr Suhas Diwase, Pune District Collector has urged eligible residents of Pune to register themselves for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Setting an example for others to follow, Dr Diwase has already taken this step. Dr Diwase highlighted that after the declaration of the election date and 10 days before the last date of filing nomination, the residents can fill out form no 6 for registering as new voters. Additionally, form number 8 can be filled out to register a change of address. After this process, the final list will be made.

Dr Diwase said that the voter registration and address corrections will be processed swiftly. He highlighted the importance of voter participation and encouraged all eligible citizens to register promptly.

As per notifications from the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer which underscore the significance of the registration, migration and deletion of names during the election year it ensures that citizens have the opportunity to have their voices heard in the democratic process. To facilitate registration, application form No. 6 can be submitted online through the Election Commission of India’s ‘Voter Helpline App’ https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.eci.citizen or offline at the nearest Tehsil Office. Dr Diwase reiterates the call for eligible voters whose names are not on the voter list to take the necessary steps to register.
