Lonavala has witnessed a heavy downpour, with 232 millimeters of rain recorded in the last 24 hours. The rain continues to fall, raising the possibility that this year’s rainfall will break last year’s record.

Last year, the total rainfall was 4,518 millimeters. This year, since the onset of the monsoon, 4,047 millimeters of rain have already been recorded by the first week of August.

The heavy rain in Lonavala continues, with 232 millimeters recorded in the past 24 hours. The number of tourists in Lonavala is increasing, with thousands arriving from Mumbai, Pune, and other cities across Maharashtra.

The higher-than-average rainfall this year has brought joy to both tourists and local businesses. With 4,047 millimeters of rain so far, it is almost certain that last year’s record will be surpassed.

The weather department has issued a warning of extremely heavy rainfall for the ghat regions and dam areas. Residents along the riverbanks in Pimpri-Chinchwad and Pune have been alerted to remain vigilant. The municipal corporation has also urged residents to cooperate if relocation becomes necessary.
