Illegal structure demolished as police widen investigation into alleged exploitation and circulation of videos involving minor girls

Authorities in Maharashtra’s Amravati district have taken strict action in a shocking case involving alleged exploitation of minor girls, with a bulldozer deployed at the residence of the main accused, Ayan Tanveer.

The action was carried out by the Achalpur Municipal Council in Paratwada after notices were issued regarding illegal construction at the accused’s house. Officials demolished an unauthorised iron staircase built outside the structure, which was reportedly used to access the upper floor.

Heavy police deployment was seen at the site to maintain law and order during the operation, as the case has triggered strong public reaction.

According to police, the 19-year-old accused was arrested on April 11 and has been remanded to police custody. Investigations suggest that he allegedly targeted minor girls through social media platforms such as WhatsApp and Snapchat, luring them into what officials described as a “love trap.”

Police claim that over 180 girls may have been targeted, and around 350 objectionable videos were allegedly created and later used for blackmail. The case came to light after some of these videos reportedly surfaced online, prompting immediate police action.

During the probe, officials seized the accused’s mobile phone and are analysing digital data to identify other individuals involved and trace the circulation of the videos. Investigators are also working to determine where the content was created and how it was distributed.

In a related development, police have arrested three more individuals, including one identified as Uzar Khan, for allegedly downloading and sharing the videos on different social media platforms. Officials say further arrests are possible as the investigation progresses.

The case has also sparked political reactions after reports of the accused’s alleged past links with a political outfit surfaced. However, local party leaders have clarified that he no longer has any association with them.

Police have urged the public not to share any videos or images related to the case, warning that doing so is a punishable offence and can further harm the victims. Authorities have assured that the identities of those affected will be kept strictly confidential.

The investigation remains ongoing, with agencies focusing on uncovering the full extent of the network and ensuring strict legal action against all those involved.
