MahaMetro proposes foot overbridge to be constructed at Civil Court Metro Station

Pune: The MahaMetro has proposed to build a foot overbridge (FOB) at Civil Court Interchange Metro Station to provide seamless connectivity within the station premises between Hinjewadi Metro Station and other stations.

Speaking to Pune Pulse, Dr Hemant Sonawane, Executive Director, Public Relations and Administration, Pune Metro said, “A foot overbridge is proposed to be built in the Civil Court Interchange Metro Station to connect Hinjewadi Station with other stations. The Hinjewadi Station will take another 2.5 years to complete after which the foot overbridge will be constructed.”

As per further information, the proposed FOB connection on the Civil Court Metro Station has been designed to solve the common problem of travellers having to cover a 150 m distance between the MahaMetro and the Hinjewadi metro station. 

Once this FOB connection is complete, it will provide smooth connectivity between the other metro lines and the Shivaji Nagar-Hinjewadi Metro Station.

Maha-Metro has approved the construction of FOB, however, negotiations on the construction and financing of FOB are still in progress. The Civil Court Interchange Metro Station plays an important role as a transition point for commuters commuting between the various metro corridors. 

The innovative design of the underground metro station includes a large network of underground subway lines and foot overbridges, all of which are equipped with stairs, escalators and lifts to facilitate passenger flow.
