As the 2026 board examinations approach, the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education has taken a significant step to support students, schools, and exam centers by launching its official YouTube channel. This digital initiative aims to provide clear guidance on exam procedures, share motivational messages, and reduce confusion that often arises during the board exams.

The new channel will feature videos from board officials explaining rules and regulations in a simple and accessible manner. Alongside these informative clips, students will also receive encouragement from well-known personalities, helping them stay motivated and focused in the run-up to their exams.

Maharashtra State Board Chairperson Triguna Kulkarni, the first IAS officer to head the board, explained that while exam rules remain unchanged, varying interpretations of written instructions have historically caused confusion among students and school authorities. “There is nothing new in the rules and procedures related to exams, but different interpretations of written documents create confusion every year,” she stated.

To address these recurring issues, the board has assigned heads of its nine divisions to produce subject-specific and topic-based videos. These videos will clarify rules, procedures, and other important information for students, teachers, and examination center staff.

Kulkarni highlighted a frequent point of confusion: differing interpretations of facilities available for students with special needs by school principals and exam center heads. The board aims to provide uniform guidance through these videos to ensure all students receive the support they are entitled to.

The channel already hosts content featuring senior officials such as Ranjit Singh Deol, Principal Secretary for School Education, and IPS officer Vishwas Nagre Patil, who offer motivational messages and advice to avoid malpractices during exams. Other videos feature divisional heads like Sudhakar Telang of Latur, who explains available facilities for students with disabilities, and Rajesh Kshirsagar of Kolhapur, who outlines actions against exam malpractices and cheating cases.

Apart from procedural guidance, the board plans to expand the channel’s content to include stress management techniques and subject-specific guidance. Kulkarni emphasized, “Besides clarifying technical aspects of the exams, students and parents often have many questions about handling stress. While the traditional helpline will remain active, these videos are designed to provide basic information beforehand.”

For the upcoming 2026 examinations, the HSC (12th) written exams are scheduled from February 10 to March 18, while SSC (10th) exams will take place from February 20 to March 18. Practical and oral assessments for HSC will run from January 23 to February 9, and for SSC from February 2 to February 18.
