Maharashtra Cabinet Meeting Approves Key Decisions For Pune and Satara Districts
The Maharashtra Cabinet meeting, chaired by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, recently took place, where several important decisions were made regarding the revenue, water resources, and soil and water conservation departments. The meeting also saw a one-year extension granted to the Abhay Scheme.
In the meeting, significant decisions were made for Pune and Satara districts. In Pune, the remaining works for the Temghar Dam (Mulshi Taluka) leakage prevention measures and dam strengthening were granted administrative approval, with a special allocation of ₹315.05 crore. This decision was made by the state’s Water Resources Department.

Additionally, for Satara, the Cabinet approved a special provision of ₹170 crore for 25 submerged dam projects in the Koyna reservoir, located in the Mahabaleshwar and Jawli talukas. This decision was made by the state’s Soil and Water Conservation Department.
Furthermore, the Revenue Department granted a one-year extension to the Abhay Scheme, which allows for the conversion of government land leased to cooperative housing societies, agricultural, non-agricultural, residential, commercial, or industrial purposes, from Class-2 to Class-1 at a reduced premium.
