Bhaubeej, a significant festival celebrated as part of the Diwali festivities and symbolising the bond between brothers and sisters, has been granted an additional holiday considering its cultural importance and widespread observance across the state. This move is expected to be welcomed by state employees and citizens who traditionally partake in Bhaubeej rituals and family gatherings.

Apart from the public holidays, the government has also announced April 1, 2026 (Wednesday) as a holiday exclusively for banks, reserved for the annual financial closing and audit activities.
