The Maharashtra State Common Entrance Examination Cell has revised the format of the CET question paper for LLB three-year and five-year courses. The exam will now be for 120 marks instead of 150, with each question carrying one mark.

Officials said the change aligns the exam with entrance tests conducted for National Law Universities. However, the exam duration remains the same at 120 minutes.

So far, over 70,000 students have registered for the LLB entrance exam. Initially, the deadline for registration was January 28, but due to requests from students and parents, it has been extended to February 13. For the five-year LLB course, over 20,000 candidates have registered.

The exam will be conducted online and will have objective multiple-choice questions with four options. There will be no negative marking. The question paper will be available in both English and Marathi.

The three-year LLB exam will have four sections: legal aptitude and legal reasoning, general knowledge and current affairs, logical and analytical reasoning, and English. The five-year LLB exam will have an additional section on basic mathematics.

Students have welcomed the changes, as the revised format brings the exam in line with national law entrance tests. Officials assured that the difficulty level will remain unchanged despite the reduction in total marks.
