Pune News: Traffic Diversion Implemented To Ease Congestion At Ambekar Chowk In Undri

Pune, January 31, 2025 – The Kondhwa Traffic Department of Pune Police has introduced new traffic measures at Ambekar hotel Chowk in Undri to alleviate severe congestion caused by heavy vehicular movement, including school buses and vehicles navigating the steep incline at Khadimachine Chowk.

Due to the narrow roads from Jagdamba Bhavan and Hole Vasti Chowk, bottlenecks were frequent, causing traffic slowdowns, especially during peak hours. To address this, authorities have implemented a 75-foot roadblock using barricades and bamboo on key routes to streamline traffic flow.

As per the revised traffic plan:

1. Vehicles from Undri heading towards Jagdamba Bhavan must turn left and take a U-turn 30 meters ahead to proceed towards NIBM Chowk.
2. Citizens coming from Jagdamba Bhavan towards NIBM Chowk and Undri must take a left turn and a U-turn 30 meters ahead.
3. Vehicles from NIBM Chowk heading to Jagdamba Bhavan, Pisoli, and Khadimachine Chowk must also follow the same left turn and U-turn procedure.

“The new arrangements have significantly reduced congestion at Ambekar Chowk. The traffic police urge citizens to cooperate with the new measures for smoother traffic movement, ” said Kumar Ghadge,  Senior Police Inspector, Kondhwa Traffic Division.
