Maharashtra: MPSC Prelims Answer Key Sparks Controversy Among Aspirants
The Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) recently released the answer key for the Maharashtra State Civil Services Gazetted Preliminary Examination 2024, conducted on December 1. However, the answer key has left many aspirants confused and disappointed.
Three questions in the set have been identified as incorrect by the students, who have until December 10 to file complaints or objections about the answers provided. The questions in contention pertain to science, economics, and geography.
Candidates have started submitting objections with references, and the commission has assured that the claims will be rectified in the final answer key if found correct. MPSC secretary Suvarna Kharat stated that the commission will review the objections and make necessary changes.
Aspirants are urging the commission to show urgency in addressing the issue, as the incorrect answers could significantly impact their scores. “Many examinees may miss their goals by 25 marks if the commission does not change the answers,” said a candidate who took the exam.
The controversy surrounding the answer key has sparked concerns among aspirants, who are hoping for a prompt resolution. The MPSC has released the answer key five days after the exam, and candidates are advised to submit their objections before the deadline.
Points of Contention:
– Question 1:Which statements about Maharashtra according to the 2011 census are correct?
– Question 2: Where is coal found in Chandrapur district?
– Question 3: According to Higgins, population growth is…
Aspirants can submit their objections online, along with evidence, before December 10. The commission will review the objections and release the final answer key accordingly.
