Nashik, Oct 3 :

The 13-day indefinite strike of onion traders in Nashik district was called off on Monday, giving a big relief to the farmers producing the bulb.

From Tuesday (October 3), the market committees of Nashik district will once again be crowded with onion auctions. The onion traders withdrew the agitation on the condition that the central and state governments decide on their demands within a month. The announcement regarding the withdrawal of the agitation was made by the guardian minister of Nashik district, Dadaji Bhuse.

The agitating onion traders had demanded a reduction of the 40 percent export duty imposed on onion exports. A central-level meeting was also held in this regard in Delhi but no solution could be found.
