Pune Division Achieves 94.81% in SSC 2025 Results, Drops to Fourth Position Statewide
The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) on Tuesday announced the Class 10 SSC results for 2025, with Pune division registering an overall pass percentage of 94.81%. Despite a strong showing, the division slipped to fourth place in the state, following Konkan, Kolhapur, and Mumbai.
According to official data, a total of 2,63,154 students appeared for the exam across Pune division. Of these, 2,49,507 candidates passed, resulting in a division-wide success rate of 94.81%.
District-Wise Performance: Pune Leads with 97.26%
Among the three districts in the division, Pune district outperformed the others, achieving a remarkable 97.26% pass rate. It was followed by Solapur with 92.83% and Ahilyanagar with 91.85%.
Pune district also saw the highest participation, with 1,32,447 students appearing for the exams. In comparison, Ahilyanagar recorded 66,858 examinees, while Solapur had 63,849.
Academic Merit and Extra-Curricular Achievements
An impressive 79,824 students in the division received a distinction (over 75%), while 86,594 secured first class (over 60%). Another 63,345 achieved second class (over 45%), and 19,744 students passed with minimum marks (above 35%).
Thirteen students scored a perfect 100% due to additional marks awarded for extra-curricular activities. In total, 52,638 students in the division benefitted from such marks, with 44,072 students receiving credits for drawing, followed by 5,827 for sports.
ATKT, Re-Exams and 100% Results
A total of 4,998 students in the Pune division who failed in one or two subjects are eligible for the Allowed-To-Keep-Term (ATKT) provision. Additionally, 13,867 students will be eligible to reappear for the SSC examinations.
Notably, 1,311 schools in the division achieved a perfect 100% pass rate. However, seven schools reported zero pass percentage.
Exam Malpractices Under Scrutiny
Seventeen instances of copying were reported across seven examination centres in the division during the February-March examination period. The board has initiated investigations, and recognition of these centres is likely to be permanently revoked. No FIRs have been filed so far.
Comparative Performance from Previous Year
In 2024, the Pune division had recorded a higher pass percentage of 96.44% and ranked third in the state, trailing only Konkan and Kolhapur. This year, despite a slight dip in performance, the division remains among the top performers in Maharashtra.
