Maharashtra TET Results Declared: Over 50,000 Candidates Qualify

Pune, February 5, 2026: The Maharashtra State Examination Council (MSEC) on Wednesday announced the final results of the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET), with 50,369 candidates qualifying for eligibility across the state.
According to officials, the overall success rate this year stands at 11.28%, making it the highest pass percentage recorded since the council began conducting the examination in 2013. This marks a significant improvement compared to previous years.
The results were released by Anuradha Oak, Commissioner of the State Examination Council. TET was conducted on November 23 at examination centres across 37 districts in Maharashtra. The provisional answer key was issued on December 19, and candidates were given time until December 27 to submit objections. After a detailed review by subject experts, the final answer key was published on January 13, following which the results were finalised.
Paper-wise data shared by the council shows that 28,477 candidates cleared Paper II, while 21,892 candidates passed Paper I.
The council also highlighted long-term trends of the examination. Since 2013, the Maharashtra TET has been held eight times, with a total of 29.74 lakh candidates appearing for the test. Out of these, 1,01,663 candidates have qualified over the years, resulting in an average eligibility rate of approximately 3.5%.
Earlier, the highest recorded pass percentage was 5.13% in 2018, followed closely by 5.02% in 2013. Officials also reiterated that 19,537 candidature records from the 2018–19 cycles were cancelled after instances of malpractice were confirmed.
The council stated that detailed information regarding eligibility certificates and the procedure for obtaining official documents will be shared through a separate notification on its official platform.
