Pune, February 5, 2026: Pune witnessed an important step towards integrated urban development with the successful conduct of a meeting of the City Transformation Cell, aimed at improving coordination among key government and civic agencies. The meeting was held on February 5, 2025, in view of the expanding scale of ongoing and upcoming urban projects and the increasing complexity of civic services and environmental management in the city.

Senior officials from multiple departments participated in the meeting, underlining the need for a strong institutional framework to ensure smooth implementation of development initiatives. The discussions focused on aligning efforts across departments to support Pune’s rapid growth while maintaining efficient service delivery and environmental balance.

The meeting was held in presence of Jitendra Dudi, Pune district Collector, Naval Kishor Ram, Pune Municipal Corporation Commissioner, PMC City Engineer Anirudha Pawaskar at the PMC headquarter.

Among those present were the Police Commissioner; the Chairman and Managing Director of Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML); Chief Engineers from the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company, Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA), and the Maharashtra Pollution Control Board; senior officials from the Pune Metro Rail Project; the Superintending Engineer from the Water Resources Department; the Regional Transport Officer; Additional Commissioner of Traffic Police; and representatives from the Public Works Department, Forest Department, telecom service providers, and Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation.

Officials engaged in detailed deliberations on infrastructure planning, transport coordination, power supply, environmental safeguards, and traffic management. Emphasis was laid on inter-departmental coordination to avoid duplication of work, reduce delays, and minimise inconvenience to citizens.

The City Transformation Cell highlighted the importance of collective decision-making to address urban challenges more effectively and to ensure sustainable development. Officials agreed that coordinated planning is essential for managing Pune’s fast-paced urbanisation and improving overall quality of life.
