Maharashtra Weather Alert For November 20: Cold Wave Conditions to Intensify, IMD Issues Statewide Temperature Drop Warning
Weather Alert Maharashtra For December 4: Next 24 Hours Crucial as Weather Changes Again, IMD Issues Fresh Update
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a fresh weather alert for Maharashtra, warning that cold wave conditions are expected to intensify across several districts on November 20. A significant dip in temperature is likely to continue, with most regions experiencing dry and clear skies.
According to the IMD, the surge of cold winds from northern India will keep mornings chilly and maintain a persistent drop in minimum temperatures. The cold spell that began earlier this week is strengthening, and many districts that were under a cold wave alert until November 19 will continue to witness similar conditions on November 20.
In Mumbai and the adjoining suburbs, the weather is expected to remain clear. Maximum temperatures may hover around 34°C, while minimum temperatures could drop to nearly 20°C. The entire Konkan belt may also see dry conditions with a slight fall in temperatures.
Pune is forecast to record mainly clear skies, with the maximum temperature around 30°C and the minimum dropping to 10°C. Districts like Kolhapur, Satara, Sangli and Solapur are also likely to witness increased chill due to the consistent fall in temperatures.
In Marathwada, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar is expected to remain clear, with temperatures ranging between 30°C (maximum) and 13°C (minimum). Other districts in the region are also experiencing a steady temperature decline.
North Maharashtra, including Nashik, will continue to face sharp morning cold and cool conditions throughout the day. Maximum temperatures may touch 30°C, while the minimum could drop to 12°C.
Vidarbha, particularly Nagpur, may see partly cloudy skies with temperatures ranging between 28°C and 15°C. Districts such as Amravati, Bhandara and Gondia are also likely to experience increased chill even during the daytime.
The IMD has advised citizens to use adequate warm clothing as nighttime and early morning temperatures may drop further over the next 48 hours, especially in Pune, Nashik and parts of Marathwada.
