Maharashtra is likely to witness a renewed spell of cold conditions, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issuing an alert indicating that the next 12 hours will be crucial.

According to IMD, weather conditions favourable for a cold wave may develop over the next two days, even as minimum temperatures currently remain above 12°C across most parts of the state.

For the past week, persistent cloud cover has led to a rise in day temperatures, reducing the intensity of winter. While mornings and nights are experiencing only mild chill, daytime heat has increased considerably. IMD forecasts that temperatures may soon dip again as clearer skies return.
