Maharashtra Weather Update, October 30, 2025: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast continued rainfall across Maharashtra till November 5, as changes in wind patterns and rough sea conditions persist over the Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal.

Key Highlights

  • The IMD has issued a yellow alert for multiple districts, including Ratnagiri, Jalgaon, Bhandara, Yavatmal, Wardha, Nagpur, Amravati, Washim, Akola, Gondia, Chandrapur, and Gadchiroli.
  • Moderate rainfall is expected in Konkan, Vidarbha, and parts of Marathwada, with heavy rain likely in isolated areas.
  • Due to strong winds and high sea activity, fishermen have been advised not to venture into deep sea areas until further notice.

According to the IMD, the weather disturbance in the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal continues to influence rainfall patterns across the state. Cloudy conditions will prevail in most regions, while some areas will experience light to moderate rain.

Heavy Rain Predicted in Vidarbha and Marathwada

Parts of Vidarbha and Marathwada may witness intense rainfall today, prompting the IMD to urge farmers to take precautionary measures. Many districts have already faced crop damage due to unseasonal rain, particularly in Ratnagiri, Jalgaon, and Bhandara, where harvested produce has been affected by waterlogging.

The IMD stated that Yavatmal, Wardha, Nagpur, Bhandara, Amravati, and Washim districts remain under a yellow alert, while Akola, Gondia, Chandrapur, and Gadchiroli may receive scattered showers. The next 48 hours are crucial for Vidarbha and Marathwada, with the likelihood of thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds.

Cyclone Mointha Weakens

Cyclone Mointha, which made landfall along the Andhra Pradesh coast, has now weakened into a deep depression, leading to changing wind patterns over the Bay of Bengal. The IMD continues to monitor the situation closely over the next two days.

Heavy rain is expected in Vidarbha and Marathwada on October 31, after which rainfall intensity will gradually reduce from November 1 onward. However, light rain may continue till November 5, according to the IMD.

Fishermen are advised to avoid venturing into the deep sea due to rough conditions.
