Mumbai-Pune Weather News: After days of continuous rainfall during Ganeshotsav, Maharashtra’s weather is now showing signs of change. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), most parts of the state will experience a decline in rainfall intensity on Monday, September 8, while certain districts in Vidarbha may witness heavy showers.

In Mumbai and Konkan, the rain activity is expected to reduce. The IMD has predicted moderate rain in Mumbai city, suburbs, Raigad, Thane, and Palghar in the next 24 hours. No weather warning has been issued for these regions.

In North Maharashtra, which witnessed heavy downpours in the first week of September, rainfall intensity will now decline. Light to moderate showers are possible in isolated places, but no alert has been issued for any district.

In Western Maharashtra, including Pune, Satara, Sangli, Solapur, and Kolhapur, the IMD expects generally cloudy skies with no major rain warnings in effect.

In Marathwada, including Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar and adjoining districts, the weather has turned dry with no major rainfall expected on September 8. However, fresh rainfall activity may resume later in the week.

In contrast, Eastern Vidarbha will continue to see active monsoon conditions. Districts such as Wardha, Nagpur, Chandrapur, Bhandara, Gondia, and Gadchiroli have been placed under a yellow alert for heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning.

Meanwhile, the rest of Maharashtra is likely to remain mostly dry on September 8. IMD forecasts suggest rainfall may pick up again in some regions from September 9 onwards.
