Maharashtra Weather Update: The state continues to experience heavy rainfall. The next two to three days are expected to see intense rain in the Konkan region. Mumbai, Pune, Kolhapur, Satara, Palghar, and Thane districts are also likely to receive significant rainfall.

According to the Meteorological Department, moderate rain is expected in isolated areas of Pune, Satara, Sangli, Kolhapur, Dharashiv, Solapur, Latur, and Sindhudurg districts in the coming hours. Light showers are predicted in Mumbai, Thane, Jalgaon, Dhule, Raigad, Ratnagiri, Nandurbar, Aurangabad, Jalna, and Nanded districts.

The Pune Weather Station reports a low-pressure belt from South Gujarat to North Kerala’s coastline. Over the next three to four days, rain is expected across most parts of the state. The Konkan, Goa, and the hilly areas of Central Maharashtra may experience extremely heavy rainfall over the next four to five days.

Vidarbha is expected to see very heavy rain in isolated areas today, with Marathwada also expecting significant rainfall. On July 15, Vidarbha and Marathwada could see very heavy to heavy rain, continuing into July 16. The forecast predicts heavy rain in Vidarbha on July 17 and 18. Ratnagiri is on red alert for the next 48 hours due to the likelihood of extremely heavy rainfall. Similarly, Kolhapur and the hilly areas of Satara are on red alert today, with orange alerts for Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, and the hilly areas of Satara for the next five days. Raigad, Pune, and Satara’s hilly areas are on orange alert for the next three days.

Vidarbha is also expected to experience heavy rain, with a yellow alert issued for the entire region over the next four to five days. Parbhani, Hingoli, Amravati, Wardha, and Yavatmal districts may see isolated heavy rain, warranting a yellow alert. Chandrapur, Gadchiroli, and Gondia are on orange alert today and tomorrow.

Pune and surrounding areas can expect steady moderate to heavy rain over the next 48 hours, with extremely heavy rain in the hilly regions. Following this period, the intensity of rain in Pune and its surroundings is expected to decrease.
