Tomorrow marks a significant day in the electoral process as three candidates from the Mahavikas Aghadi are scheduled to file their nominations. MP Supriya Sule for Baramati Lok Sabha constituency, MP Dr. Amol Kolhe for Shirur Lok Sabha constituency, and MLA Ravindra Dhangekar for Pune Lok Sabha constituency will officially enter the electoral fray on April 18.

The nomination filing ceremony will commence at 10:30 am, followed by a grand show of strength in front of Hotel Shantai in Rasta Peth. Notable leaders including Sharad Pawar, Jayant Patil, Uddhav Thackeray’s group represented by Sanjay Raut, Balasaheb Thorat, and Aam Aadmi Party state president Ajit Phatke are expected to attend and provide guidance during the meeting.

The elections for all four constituencies in Pune district will be held in two phases. The Baramati Lok Sabha constituency will go to polls on May 7, while Pune, Shirur, and Maval Lok Sabha constituencies will witness polling on May 13.

The electoral landscape presents intriguing battles, with Baramati witnessing a high-stakes contest between Mahavikas Aghadi’s Supriya Sule and Mahayuti’s Sunetra Pawar. In Shirur, incumbent MP Dr. Amol Kolhe faces off against Mahayuti’s Shivajirao Adharao Patil. Similarly, in the Maval Lok Sabha constituency, Shiv Sena’s Shrirang Barane and Sanjog Waghere will compete.

Pune Lok Sabha Constituency will witness a three-way contest, with former Mayor Muralidhar Mohol from Mahayuti, MLA Ravindra Dhangekar from Mahavikas Aghadi, and Vasant More from Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi vying for victory.
