Mahindra’s Thar Roxx, XUV 3XO, and XUV400 Achieve 5-Star BNCAP Ratings

The newly introduced Thar Roxx has achieved a significant milestone by becoming the first body-on-frame SUV to receive a 5-star rating from B-NCAP. This off-road capable vehicle earned an impressive score of 31.09 out of 32 in adult occupant protection (AOP) and 45 out of 49 in child occupant protection (COP).

The Bharat New Car Assessment Program (B-NCAP) has announced the safety ratings for three SUVs from Mahindra: the Thar Roxx, XUV 3XO, and XUV400. Each of these models has successfully completed the safety evaluations, earning an impressive five-star rating.

The Mahindra Thar Roxx boasts an outstanding safety rating, which can be credited to its sturdy design and a comprehensive set of safety features. This SUV is equipped with six airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), and three-point seatbelts, all of which are further supported by seatbelt reminders, along with various other improvements.

The vehicle is equipped with Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), including features such as lane departure warning, a 360-degree camera, and automatic emergency braking, among others. This impressive package is available at a starting price of ₹ 12.99 lakh (ex-showroom), with the highest variant priced at ₹ 22.49 lakh (ex-showroom).

Mahindra XUV 3XO

The Mahindra XUV 3XO, similar to the Mahindra Thar Roxx, achieved an impressive five-star crash safety rating from Bharat NCAP. In terms of adult occupant safety, the XUV 3XO received a commendable score of 29.36 out of a possible 32 points, while it garnered 43 out of 49 points for child occupant protection.

The safety features included in the  Mahindra XUV 3XO encompass a range of components, including six airbags, three-point seatbelts, ISOFIX child seat anchors, among others. Like the Thar Roxx, this compact SUV is equipped with Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). It faces competition from various models in the Indian market, such as the Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, and Tata Nexon, among others.

Mahindra XUV400

All-electric Mahindra XUV400 scored 30.377 out of 32 points in AOP and 43 out of 49 points in COP. The XUV400 is Mahindra’s inaugural electric SUV, featuring an array of safety enhancements. Notable features include six airbags, a reverse camera, all-disc brakes, and additional safety elements.

The XUV400 EV is equipped with ESP, ABS, rear disc brakes, TPMS, and ISOFIX across both the EC Pro and EL Pro trims. The entry-level trim provides two airbags, whereas the EL Pro variant is enhanced with a total of six airbags.
