As IndiGo gradually recovers from the massive operational breakdown caused by crew shortages and scheduling issues, a new viral video has added comic relief to the chaos. A collaborative spoof by Habitat Studios founder Balraj Ghai and comedian Samay Raina is making waves across social media.

The video opens with Samay sitting in the business class cabin of an IndiGo aircraft, scrolling through his phone. Moments later, he spots a familiar face — Monal Kohli, a contestant from his satirical show India’s Got Latent. Monal walks past with a smile and a polite wave, heading toward the rear of the plane. Samay’s shocked expression triggers a flashback, where Monal ominously says, “Yaad karo,” reminding him of his first appearance on the show.

The ‘Coincidence’ That Keeps Following Him

In that episode, Monal had shared that an odd pattern trailed him throughout life — every place he joined, whether a nursery school or workplace, soon shut down. The same happened with India’s Got Latent, which was discontinued after controversies erupted. The video cleverly cuts to news snippets showing IndiGo’s widespread disruptions, drawing a humorous parallel.

India’s largest airline faced one of its worst operational crises in recent years, with mass cancellations and long delays affecting thousands of passengers nationwide. Chaos at airports forced aviation authorities to step in as stranded travellers demanded answers.

Internet Wants Monal to Visit the Places They Want ‘Gone’

The spoof instantly went viral, with netizens jumping aboard the joke. Food content creator Revant Himatsingka quipped, “Bhai, please go to the Sting energy and Dabur Chyawanprash office.”
Music composer Vishal Dadlani joked that Monal deserved a “digital-destroyer-of-the-year award from Modiji.” Others chimed in with comments like, “Is aadmi ke jeevan par Akshay Kumar film banane wala hai,” and “Bhai mere college aa jao.”

Who Is Monal Kohli?

Monal Kohli gained attention during an episode of India’s Got Latent, where he labeled himself “jinxed.” He recounted how multiple playschools he attended shut down after he joined, and joked that he feared the same would happen to Samay Raina’s show.

Soon after episodes featuring Ranveer Allahbadia (BeerBiceps), Apoorva Mukhija, and Ashish Chanchlani aired, the show was discontinued following outrage over controversial remarks made by Ranveer. The backlash included police complaints, effectively sealing the show’s fate.

Now, with IndiGo’s operational meltdown coinciding with Monal’s fictional “jinx,” the Internet has found a new character to meme — and they aren’t letting go anytime soon.
