A 31-year-old worker died after falling from the tenth floor of the under-construction building of the ‘Majestique Marbella’ housing project in Kharadi while doing centering work. The accident took place on September 21, 2022 around 5:30 in the evening.

The Chandannagar police have registered a case after almost a year and a half of investigation in this matter. As it took one and a half years for the police to file a case in this case, doubts are being raised about the investigation.

As per further information from the FIR accessed by Pune Pulse, the deceased worker has been identified as Vishwanath Khudiram Vishwas (age 32, resident Chaudhary Vasti Kharadi). A case has been registered against contractor Faheem Usman Shaikh and subcontractor Deepan Dewas Samajdar. Abhijit Khudiram Vishwas has filed the case.

Further information from the FIR states that Majestique Marbella housing project is starting at Survey No. 41A, Choudhary Vasti, Kharadi. Vishwanath Vishwas, who died on September 21, 2022, was working together on the tenth floor of the D Wing building. While working in the kitchen room, Vishwanath lost his balance and fell into the duct. The safety nets on the ninth, seventh and fifth floors of the ‘D Wing’ were shoddy. Therefore, Vishwanath, who fell from the tenth floor, went directly down to the first floor.

He died on the spot due to severe injuries. An investigation was conducted as to who is responsible for this death among the builders, construction contractors, labor contractors etc.

A case has been registered against the contractor and sub-contractor under Sections 304-A, 34 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Further investigation is going on.
