Major Accident Near Khed Shivapur Causes Traffic Jam on Mumbai-Bangalore Highway; 7 Injured

A major accident occurred near Khed Shivapur in Pune on Sunday morning, resulting in seven passengers being injured, with one in critical condition. The incident caused a significant traffic jam on both the Mumbai and Bangalore lanes, according to officials.

The police reported that a container collided with a luxury bus and then crashed into a divider. The over speeding container veered onto the Satara lane of the highway and collided with another truck. The sudden movement of the container caused a truck to collide with the Shiv Shahi bus belonging to the state transport.

The accident led to a chaotic situation on both sides of the highway. Immediate response teams, including police officers and personnel from the Rajgad police station, promptly arrived at the scene and rushed the injured individuals to nearby hospitals.

The collision resulted in a heavy traffic jam on the Mumbai-Bangalore highway, as both lanes became congested. Police officers quickly utilized cranes to clear the damaged vehicles from the highway, restoring traffic flow towards Bangalore and Mumbai.
