Man booked for brutal assault on a dog in Pune

Pune :  A man from Lohiya Nagar Ganj Peth has been booked for  allegedly brutally attacking a dog with a sharp weapon, causing severe injuries to the animal.

The accused, identified as Sadik Khan alis Gharya is a resident of Lohiya Nagar Ganj Peth.

The FIR was filed on Saturday as per the complaint filed by Prakash Digambar Kolte, who is an animal lover and associated with Mission Possible NGO.

According to the police complaint, the incident was reported on Thursday near Bagawe office in Lohia Nagar. At around 2:00 pm he received a call from a local resident informing a man brutally attacking a dog by using a sharp weapon.

The complainant immediately rushed to the spot and reduced the dog. Later the injured dog shifted it to the Animal Medical Services in Kondhwa for medical treatment. Somehow the doctor successfully saved the dog’s life and the  dog is presently receiving ongoing medical care at the hospital.

As per the complaint filed by the Kolte,the accused, Sadik Khan, now faces charges under Section 429 of the Indian Penal Code and Section 11(1)(C) of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960. At this time, the accused remains at large, and no arrests have been made.
