The police were informed about the incident by neighbors, when the body of Rana was found hanging in his flat.

In a tragic incident that sent shockwaves through the community, a 38-year-old resident of DLF Colony in Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad took his own life by hanging himself.

Before taking the extreme step, Rana recorded two distressing videos, wherein he advised people to not get married.

The victim has been identified as Jagjit Singh Rana. He hailed from the Narsaina area of Bulandshahr and lived alone in a flat in Ghaziabad. He worked in the medicine supply business. Rana was so troubled by the harassment from his wife and in-laws that he decided to take away his life by hanging himself.

The police were informed about the incident by neighbors, when the body of Rana was found hanging in his flat.

Subsequently, after receiving the information, the police recovered the body of Rana and initiated an investigation into his death. They found that before Rana committed suicide, he had recorded two videos.

In the viral video, Rana revealed that his in-laws forced him to commit suicide. He narrated harassment by members of his wife’s family, stating they were staying in Bulandshahr and had made his life hell. He added that he couldn’t describe the torment inflicted by his wife and in-laws.

He has further requested the police and administration to handle his last rites and not show his face to anyone. In his last moments, Rana was seen preparing to hang himself in the second video, in which the noose tied to a ceiling fan. His last words, too, had the same ring of pleading youngsters to stay away from marriage.

As his final message to everyone, Jagjit said, “Do whatever you want in life, but never get married. Jai Shri Ram.”

The police have sent the body for post-mortem and launched an investigation into the case. They are awaiting a complaint from Singh’s family before taking action against the accused.
