In a recent incident that has stirred a buzz on social media, a prominent user known as ‘Gabbar Singh’ with a substantial following of over 1.5 million on X platform, shared a disconcerting experience related to an Amazon India purchase. The user claimed to have received what he described as a “fake iPhone 15” from the e-commerce giant and brought the issue to the public eye by posting a picture of the product.

The shared image depicted a troubling message on the phone’s screen, stating, “Unfortunately, Photos has stopped,” raising concerns about the authenticity of the delivered item. Expressing his frustration, ‘Gabbar Singh’ sought input from his followers, questioning if anyone else had encountered a similar problem.

“Waah @amazonIN delivered a Fake iPhone 15. Seller is Appario. Tagged with ‘Amazon choice.’ No cable in the box. Total Dabba.

Has anyone faced a similar issue?” he wrote on X. The tweet swiftly gained traction, catching the attention of Amazon, which promptly responded to the customer’s predicament.

“We’re sorry to know that you received an incorrect product in the package. Kindly fill in your details here:

In response, ‘Gabbar Singh’ informed Amazon that he had filled out the form and requested a refund.

“Thank you for confirming. Please wait for 6-12 hours, and our Social Media team will get back to you with a resolution via email. Your patience is appreciated,” responded Amazon, aiming to address the issue promptly.

The post garnered numerous comments from social media users, with one sharing a similar unfortunate experience and advising caution when purchasing high-value items from Amazon.

“Happened to me 15 days ago. In my case, it’s some used old Android phone inside iPhone packaging. My money was gone. Amazon refused any help.

Folks please, stop buying expensive stuff from Amazon,” cautioned a user, echoing concerns about the potential risks associated with such incidents.

Another user shared a similar sentiment, stating, “Bro, I had a similar issue with Amazon. These people @AmazonHelp will just keep you asking to send proofs and make you wait. And after a certain time, they will say that they have checked with their internal team, and the right product was sent from our end.
