Man vs Leopard: Brick Kiln Worker Fights Off Wild Cat in Uttar Pradesh, Video Goes Viral
A shocking leopard attack at a brick kiln in Uttar Pradesh’s Lakhimpur Kheri district turned into a real-life battle for survival, as a 35-year-old worker bravely fought off the wild animal with his bare hands. The intense confrontation, caught on camera, has gone viral across social media platforms, sparking both horror and admiration nationwide.
The incident occurred in Jugnupur village, located within the Dhaurpur Forest Range. According to officials, the leopard had been hiding inside the chimney of a brick kiln owned by Medailal Verma. As workers went about their tasks near the structure, the big cat suddenly leapt out and attacked Mihilal, a resident of Girdhari Purwa.
In a terrifying turn of events, Mihilal wrestled the leopard to the ground, tightly gripping its jaws in a desperate attempt to protect himself and his coworkers. The viral video shows the intense struggle, while fellow workers and villagers scrambled to help—hurling stones and bricks at the animal to fend it off.
Though injured, the leopard managed to flee into nearby fields, leaving behind a trail of panic. Forest officials, led by Regional Forest Officer Nripendra Chaturvedi, soon arrived on the scene with local police to capture the animal. However, the operation turned violent once again as the leopard attacked the rescue team, injuring five forest personnel before it was subdued using a tranquilizer.
All the injured, including Mihilal and the forest officers, were immediately taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
This alarming encounter has reignited concerns about increasing human-wildlife conflict in the region. Yet, amid the chaos, Mihilal’s courageous stand has been hailed as a remarkable act of bravery that likely saved multiple lives.
