A massive fire broke out on the Taj Express passenger train in Delhi’s Sarita Vihar area on Monday evening, causing significant chaos among the passengers. The incident occurred around 4:25 pm, rapidly spreading to engulf four coaches of the train. Information was promptly relayed to the Railway Police and Delhi Fire Services.

According to the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Railways), no injuries were reported, as all passengers were evacuated in a timely manner and moved to safety. Approximately eight fire tenders were dispatched to the scene to combat the blaze. The fire broke out in Sarita Vihar’s Harkesh Nagar area.

The DCP reported, “On June 3, a PCR call at 4:41 pm was received regarding a fire in a train at Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station. The investigating officer reached the spot near Apollo Hospital.”

The police team arrived quickly and found four coaches of the Taj Express train ablaze. The train was stopped immediately, allowing passengers to deboard and move to other coaches, preventing any injuries. Further action is being undertaken by the Railways.

An investigation has been launched to determine the exact cause of the fire.
