Pune: Supriya Sule, Baramati Lok Sabha MP and senior leader of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) has urged the government to include Hinjewadi, Maan, and Marunji areas and promptly integrate villages into the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC).

Gram panchayats are facing problems due to the lack of infrastructure provided by both builders and the government.

For many years, Supriya Sule has been consistently advocating that the government should immediately incorporate these villages into the municipal corporation. She made this statement while engaging with residents of various societies in Maan and Marunji.

As per the information received, the event was attended by the former president of Zilla Parishad, Prof. Savita Dagde, the party’s taluka president, Mahadev Kondhare, former Zilla parishad member Swati Hulawale, and hundreds of society residents and Marunji villagers. Rapid urbanization has resulted in the emergence of large societies, but the roads remain the same. The traffic problem is severe, and it takes an hour and a half to travel 2 km.

She further continued that encroachments on roads have increased and there is no clean water supply, forcing residents to rely on tankers. The garbage problem is dire, and there are no street lights, proper drainage system, electricity, public transport facilities, and PMPML bus connectivity, despite additional taxation from the gram panchayat.

Residents also expressed their grievances to Sule, stating that they were not receiving infrastructure from builders, PMRDA, and gram panchayats. They exposed fraudulent practices by builders regarding amenities and other commitments and stalled records. Sule continued, we purchase flats due to the glitz in the catalogue, but the reality is terrible. The builder absconds with the money, and we are cheated. Therefore, I have been consistently advocating for many years that the government should immediately incorporate these villages into the PCMC.
