MHADA announces lottery of over 2,000 apartments in Mumbai; Check Eligibility, Key Dates and How to Apply

The Mumbai Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) has launched a lottery for the sale of over 2,000 flats in various housing projects across Mumbai.
The online registration and application process for the lottery began at noon on August 9, 2024.
Applications will be accepted until September 4 at 11:45 pm, and the results will be announced on September 13 at 11 am.
The houses are situated in various areas such as Pahadi in Goregaon, Antop Hill in Wadala, Kopri in Powai, Kannamwar Nagar in Vikhroli, and Shivdham Complex in Malad.
The lottery will feature a total of 2,030 homes, with the largest number – 768 apartments – available in the Middle Income Group (MIG) category. There will be 627 apartments for the Lower Income Group (LIG), 359 for the Economic Weaker Section (EWS), and over 276 for the Higher Income Group (HIG).
Apartments in the MIG category are primarily 2 BHK units while 1 BHK apartments are available under the LIG and EWS categories.
The largest 3 BHK apartments fall under the HIG category. According to MHADA officials, the pricing varies by location and there is no fixed pricing mechanism.

Eligibility:
According to MHADA rules, those with a family income of up to Rs 6 lakh per annum can apply for a home under the EWS category. Those with an income between Rs 6 lakh and Rs 9 lakh can apply under the LIG category.
For those with a family income between Rs 9 lakh to Rs 12 lakh can apply under the MIG category and those with a family income above Rs 12 lakh per annum can apply under the HIG category.
The annual income of a husband and wife is considered as family income for the purpose of the MHADA lottery.
The income of individuals’ parents or siblings is not considered as family income.
