Pune: A 15-year-old girl has received threats and defamation from a person whom she met online while playing an online game called ‘Garena Free Fire.’

Speaking to Pune Pulse, Swapnali Shinde, Police Inspector, at Market Yard Police Station, said, “The minor girl, who lives in a residential society in Bibwewadi-Kondhwa Road, has been playing an online game ‘Garena Free Fire’ since 3 years. It needed 4 other players. 3 were from her society while the other player, identified as Aman Kumar (the accused), was the fourth one. Due to the game, the girl & Aman Kumar were online friends for 3 years. He used to ask her to send her nude photos to him. She sent 9 to 10 nude photos to him after which he started blackmailing & threatening her.”

As per further information shared by Swapnali Shinde, after the incident, the girl switched off her phone. She & Aman Kumar have not met each other ever. They were only online friends. She had sent him the photos only 4 months back. As the girl had switched off her phone, on Lakshmi Pujan day, he sent the photos to the girl’s grandmother & father.
