Miracle in Seat 11A: Single miracle survivor Walks Out Alive After Deadly Air India Crash : Video
In a rare instance of survival amid tragedy, one man walked away alive after the deadly Air India crash in Ahmedabad that killed 204 people. The passenger, Ramesh Vishwaskumar Bucharvada, 38, was seated on 11A aboard Air India flight AI171 when the plane went down minutes after takeoff.
Ramesh reportedly jumped off the aircraft during the incident and sustained injuries. A video that has since surfaced shows him limping away from the wreckage near the crash site.
Ahmedabad Police Commissioner GS Malik confirmed that Bucharvada was the lone known survivor so far. “One survivor has been found from seat 11A. He is currently being treated at a hospital,” said Malik. He added that the exact death toll may still rise, as the crash occurred in a densely populated residential area.
According to flight data, the London-bound Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner had climbed only 625 feet before it lost control and crashed into the hostel building of B J Medical College and Hospital.

The plane had taken off from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport at 1:39 pm, carrying 230 passengers and 12 crew members. Contact with air traffic control was lost within a minute.
Seat 11A, where Ramesh was seated, is in the first row of the Economy cabin near the right-side windows, slightly ahead of the aircraft’s wings, as per Aerolopa’s seating chart for the aircraft model.

Rescue operations are ongoing as authorities continue to assess the extent of the damage.
