Miraj police issue notices to 35 DJs & Ganesh mandals for noise pollution - pune pulse

Pune: Notices have been issued by the Miraj Police Administration against 35 Disco Jockeys (DJs) from whose sound systems, noise pollution happened during Anant Chaturdashi. Along with DJs, notices have been issued to many Ganesh Mandals as well.
As per further information, the noise limit was violated during the immersion ceremony. Rampant violations of rules and exceeding decibel limits by the mandals were seen. This year, in Miraj, on the occasion of Anant Chaturdashi, the Ganesh Visarjan procession was allowed to play a sound system but was subject to the rules.
At this time, a loud sound system was installed to bid farewell to Ganapati in the immersion procession. This year, more than 160 public Ganeshotsav mandals installed a raucous sound system instead of traditional instruments.
A report was sent to the Noise Pollution Control Board after a physical inspection of the procession by the police.
After this, the police administration issued notices to take action against the presidents of Ganeshotsav mandals and sound system owners who have been violating the rules in the city. The police officials have directed that cases will be registered soon against them.
In Pune city too, the Pune Police have registered cases against around 45 Pune Ganesh Mandals for crossing noise decibel limits during the Ganesh festival.
