Amidst the bustling streets of Kondhwa, a video (link) surfaced showing residents and motorists finding themselves trapped in a middle of congestion and chaos. In the video, it is clearly visible that several two-wheelers are stuck in a congested area and the street lights are not working. This has also raised serious questions about road safety of two wheeler vehicles.

The road shown is notably the stretch from Jyoti Hotel Chowk to Konark Pooram which has become a bottleneck, leaving commuters stranded in a sea of vehicles.

The video shared by Pune Pulse was shared and retweeted by many. A user named Sameer Galsulkar took to social media platform X to highlight the dire situation. His tweet read that encroachments and haphazard parking have become the norm, transforming once-accessible roads into cramped passages. The plea for intervention falls on the deaf ears of the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), as observed by Galsulkar and echoed by many others.

Another X user, Sachin Siddhe, also shared his views by stating that encroachments virtually swallow the roads whole, turning them into makeshift markets.

The ramifications of inaction are palpable, with residents bracing themselves for the inevitable escalation of the crisis. With encroachments inching closer to vital thoroughfares and road conditions deteriorating rapidly, the community anticipates a downward spiral.

The PMC has, however, taken notice of the issue and tweeted that, “We have registered your complaint. Your complaint Token number is T48770. You can check the current status of your complaint at: https://complaint.pmc.gov.in Thank you.”

The urgency for immediate action reverberates through the streets of Kondhwa, with residents clinging to the hope of relief from the suffocating grip of gridlock.
