Pune, Kondhwa: Residents of Kondhwa are facing a growing traffic problem, with severe congestion stretching from Lulla Nagar to Konark Pooram society. The issue is exacerbated by vegetable vendors who occupy crucial space opposite Kubera Park society near Lulla Nagar, close to the Pune Cantonment Board. This results in a bottleneck at Fakhri Hills Chowk and further narrowing at Jyoti Hotel Chowk and Bhairavnath Mandir Chowk, frequently causing traffic jams.

Former MLA of Hadapsar Constituency, Mahadev Babar, addressed this issue a year ago in a letter to the then Commissioner of Pune Municipal Corporation, Vikram Kumar. The letter called for the opening of Development Plan (DP) marked roads to relieve traffic pressure. For more details, visit Pune Pulse.

In his communication with the Pune Municipal Corporation, the former MLA advocated for the acquisition and development of various DP Marked roads, including:

The expansion of the South-East 20-meter DP road in Kondhwa Khurd, S.No. 9 and 10.
Enhancement of the 20-meter DP road connecting east and west in Kondhwa Khurd, S.No. 9 and 37.
Augmentation of the east-west 15-meter road spanning S.No. 37, 32, 33, and 29 in Kondhwa Khurd.
Widening of the 20-meter DP road in the southeastern part of Kondhwa Khurd, S.No. 37.
Establishing a 24-meter border road along Kondhwa Khurd and Kondhwa Budruk, including S.No. 34, 35, 37, 38, 17, 19, and 31.
Expansion of the east-west 15-meter road traversing S.No. 29, 33, and 36 in Kondhwa Khurd.
Despite repeated attempts, civic officials have not been available for comment on the ongoing traffic issues or the proposed road enhancements.
