Monument of Pride: Grand Statue Of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Unveiled At Rajkot Fort, Sindhudurg

In a grand ceremony held at Rajkot Fort in Sindhudurg, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis expressed his reverence during the ‘Darshan and Poojan’ of the magnificent statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. He called the experience deeply spiritual and a powerful reminder of the great Maratha warrior’s unmatched courage and visionary leadership.
The awe-inspiring statue stands at 60 feet in height, with the raised sword extending the total height to 83 feet. Including the foundation structure, the monument reaches an impressive 93 feet from the ground. Engineered with durability in mind, it is designed to stand strong for at least a century.
CM Fadnavis also reviewed the statue complex and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to the development of the Konkan region. He emphasized that the Mahayuti Government is not only dedicated to boosting regional tourism but also to preserving Maharashtra’s rich cultural heritage.
“The grand statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj once again rises — with the same dignity, the same pride, and a greater grandeur,” he said, adding that it serves as both a tribute to history and a guiding beacon for generations to come.

The event was graced by Deputy CM Eknath Shinde, Ministers Shivendra Raje Bhonsle, Nitesh Rane, Indranil Naik, MP Narayan Rane, and MLAs including Kalidas Kolambkar, Deepak Kesarkar, Nilesh Rane, Ravindra Chavan, and MLC Niranjan Davkhare.
This monumental tribute is set to become a key cultural landmark and a proud symbol of Maharashtra’s legacy.
